SGA Annual Conference 2026

The 2026 Conference will be an "in-person" conference. We are currently sourcing a low-cost central venue.

Join us for an enriching day dedicated to exploring the crucial role of pastoral care in Scottish education. Gain valuable insights from leading experts and practitioners in the field.

In-person SGA conferences usually take place at the Carnegie Conference Centre in Dunfermline

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE RECEIVED THE AUTOMATIC CONFIRMATION AFTER YOU SUBMIT YOUR BOOKING. IF YOU DO NOT, THEN THE FORM HAS NOT SUBMITTED SUCCESSFULLY. PLEASE GET IN TOUCH IF YOU HAVE ANY CONCERNS.

SGA events are organised by members of the SGA Committee. Organised by teachers for teachers, we aim to provide a range of interesting and practical presentations, designed to refresh the hard working guidance and support staff in our schools.

Our events consistently achieve an extremely high level of positive feedback from our delegates. We also strive to keep costs as low as possible, as we appreciate the difficult financial climate..

Cancellation: 

Once the invoice is sent out, a cancellation cannot be accepted. Invoice requires to be paid 28 days from date of issue. In normal circumstances, booking fees cannot be refunded, nor invoices cancelled. However, replacement personnel are welcome. Nevertheless, if you find yourself unable to attend, please notify us in advance (at least one week before the event) so that others on a waiting list may be given your place. Should someone on the waiting list replace you, your fee will be refunded following the event. In the unlikely event of the conference being cancelled, we will contact delegates about refunds / movement of booking to a future event / cancellation of invoice. If you have any queries regarding these terms and conditions, please contact the SGA PRIOR to making your booking.

If you don't like the idea of an early commute, on the Saturday morning, you can book an overnight stay. There is a Holiday Inn hotel less than a 5 minute drive away, in the  grounds of the old Carnegie Conference Centre.
